Some years ago I posed the question to the owner of Cardinal Scale, David Perry why he didn't build a truck scale that would last a lifetime of more than 25 years. His response was that no one would be able to afford it or wouldn't pay that much. I believe that Cardinal now builds a scale that is built to last a lifetime.

Water...what water?
We have several customers in the Aggregate industry and cleanup under scale can be troublesome. Usually the only good way to clean from under a truck scale is by using a high pressure water line to "blast" the material from under a scale. This makes everything wet and when wiring and electronics get wet they stop working properly unless it is a perfectly sealed system. What in this world is perfect? Last week we were working at one of these locations where the newer scales are hydraulic while the older sales in use are fully electronic. During a conversation with the manager he stated in the last five years that the hydraulic scales had only one service call total (3 scales) while the electroinic scales were constantly breaking down (over 25 service calls per year on five scales). Same application! Lifetime warranty means no problems!keith@pioneerscale.com
